Umoja was the bubblegum pop project of South African musical all-rounder Alec Khaoli. Their crucial album 707 was released in 1988 (at the heart of apartheid) with the intention of bringing people together across race boundaries. In doing so, 707 also defined the bubblegum music style. Now reissued on vinyl and CD by Awesome Tapes From Africa.
